For clients wishing to access Medicare rebates a current and valid referral must be provided to Regenerative Psychology at or prior to the consultation. If a consultation occurs without a valid referral the client is not eligible for a rebate under the Medicare Better Access Scheme.

A valid referral under Medicare must include:

  • Date
  • Client’s name
  • Client’s date of birth
  • Client’s address
  • Diagnosis
  • Request for services under Better Access (e.g. a statement of “Please see XXX under the Better Access Scheme”)
  • Number of sessions requested (Generally, 6 with a re-referral required to obtain additional sessions if necessary)
  • Referring practitioner’s Medicare Provider Number
  • Referring practitioner’s signature

While Regenerative Psychology will assist in obtaining an appropriate referral if information is missing, it is the client’s responsibility to ensure they have a complete referral.
