For individuals aged 16+

Personality & Mental Health Assessments

Clear, evidence-based insights to help you understand yourself and move forward with confidence.

Our clinicians use gold-standard structured diagnostic interviews, including the SCID-5-CVSCID-5-PD, and DIAMOND, alongside validated screening tools and a detailed clinical interview. This ensures your assessment is rigorous, ethical, and aligned with the best available evidence.

Who These Assessments Are For

  • Are experiencing long-term difficulties with emotions, relationships, or identity
  • Feel stuck in repeating patterns that you can’t fully explain

  • Have received different diagnoses over time and want clarity
  • Already attend therapy but want a deeper diagnostic understanding

Frequently Asked Questions

These assessments are suitable for people aged 16 years and over who are seeking formal diagnostic clarity, deeper personal understanding, or support with treatment planning. This may include long-standing emotional, relational, or mental health difficulties that have been difficult to clearly identify.

Most Personality and Mental Health Assessments are available via self-referral. Rebates do not apply to these services.

Depending on the assessment type, we can assess for:

  • Mood disorders (e.g. depression, bipolar disorder)
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Trauma-related conditions
  • Eating Disorders
  • Personality disorders
  • Complex or overlapping mental health presentations

If you’re unsure whether an assessment is appropriate for your situation, we’re happy to discuss this with you.

We use structured, evidence-based diagnostic interviews such as:

  • SCID-5-CV (Clinical Version)
  • SCID-5-PD (Personality Disorders)
  • DIAMOND
  • Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI)

These tools support reliable, best-practice diagnosis and comprehensive formulation.

The process typically includes:

  • Completion of an online intake form
  • One or more structured clinical interviews via telehealth
  • Review of background information and clinical history
  • A comprehensive written report

For most assessments, a feedback session is offered to discuss outcomes and recommendations.

If diagnostic criteria are met, this will be clearly outlined in your report. In some cases, findings may indicate sub-threshold features or a broader clinical formulation rather than a single diagnosis. Our aim is clarity, accuracy, and usefulness, not labelling for its own sake.

Psychologists cannot prescribe medication or recommend specific medications.
If you are seeking medication, you will need to consult a psychiatrist or GP. Our reports can support these discussions but do not replace a medical assessment.

These assessments may support personal understanding or treatment planning, but eligibility decisions for schemes such as the NDIS are made by the funding body. We recommend checking specific requirements before proceeding if funding support is your primary goal.
